Schools2030 launches second Global Call for Research Grants

Through the generous support provided by Jacobs Foundation, we are pleased to expand our research partnerships, and find new projects that can co-create actionable evidence with and for schools to advance education equity through our programme.

We are pleased to announce that applications are now open for the Schools2030 Global Call for Research 2022-2023. We’re excited to work with new teams to explore and learn more about how the Schools2030 programme can better improve outcomes for all learners.  

With generous support from the Jacobs Foundation, we launched our inaugural Global Call for Research in 2020. This identified our first cohort of Global Research Partners, whose work is helping us understand how and what children are learning through their participation in the programme during its inception phase.  

Whilst the first Schools2030 Research Grants focused on exploring the concept of education quality, the second Call for Proposals targets how we can improve education equity

Our second Global Call for Research focuses in on education equity. Specifically, we are searching for dynamic and innovative evidence partners to help us understand the impact of two aspects of the Schools2030 model on education equity. We would like to know more about:  

  1. The role of human-centred design, and other similar action research approaches used in the classroom, in improving educational equity. 
  1. The role of pedagogical approaches targeting holistic learning outcomes in improving educational equity.  

We are greatly excited to expand our research partnerships and work with more global experts to collectively build evidence that will inform schools and systems alike. By centring our focus around equity, we see great potential for this research to support efforts to give all students the best chance for success in their learning.

To maximise the potential for learning, we are looking to understand what existing evidence can tell us about pedagogical approaches that are participatory and that target holistic outcomes, and education equity, and the relevance of this evidence for our programme. As such, our suggested approach is for the research to consist of a systematic evidence review as well as a primary study of our programme in one or more programme countries. 

We greatly look forward to receiving applications from diverse global scholars who are looking to join the Schools2030 community of researchers working alongside technical partners, practitioners, national and global teams.
