LEGO Idea Conference – Learning through play at scale: building a teacher-led movement for improved learning outcomes

The LEGO Idea Conference is the LEGO Foundation’s annual flagship event where 300+ participants meet to discuss children’s play, learning and development.

In a session designed to address the lack of recognition of teachers’ importance in shaping educational research, policy and practice, Schools2030 will share its ambitions to support teachers at the heart of educational change and have them recognised as the agents that will drive the achievement of SDG4. With representation from our ten programme countries, the breakout session will dive into how Schools2030’s model will not only catalyse teacher-led innovations, but act as a vehicle to drive Learning through Play methodology into school curricula. Participants will discuss what implementing play-based and child-centred learning looks like in their contexts. We will also be joined by Nora Marketos, Co-Lead for the Learning Schools Initiative from our partner organisation Jacobs Foundation, who will share insights on our collaboration in this area.

Chair: Dr Andrew Cunningham, Global Lead for Education, Aga Khan Foundation
