In June 2024, Schools2030 hosted the third annual Schools2030 Global Forum this time in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic, once again bringing together a cross-section of leaders from global, national, and local education ecosystems to collectively explore key topics and accompanying questions over three days.

Full Programme

Bringing together a collection of old and new delegates from across the education spectrum, the Schools2030 Global Forum 2024 convened for three days in Bishkek to address how teachers can support a climate-conscious education agenda.

Stakeholders from across key educational constituencies included: Youth, Teachers, School Networks, Government Leaders, Education System Leaders, Funders, Researchers, INGOs and Civil Society.

 

To ensure more opportunities for dialogue between delegate groups, the Schools2030 Teacher Showcase panels this year included a Q&A session.  Delegates were also invited to join country-specific tables during lunch to network with teachers and key attendees from the country.

 

Alongside high-level dignitaries from India and Tanzania, and with the Ismaili Imamat represented by Prince Ali Aga Khan, the Minister of Education and Science for the Kuyrgyz Republic, Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva, was joined by Dr Salome Maina, Director of Education, Office of the Director General, Ministry of Education, Kenya, representing the transition to next year’s Forum in Kenya.

Learning from Our Teachers

On the first two days of the Schools2030 Global Forum, teachers from across our programme countries presented the new practices and innovations that they have created as part of Schools2030’s innovation journey. These practices were designed either to directly improve climate-related skills, or indirectly to promote the skills needed by young people to tackle the climate emergency, including leadership, empathy and collaboration.
